How can I remove pencil scribbles from Little Tikes toys?

My child scribbled on our playhouse walls. I’ve tried scrubbing with cleaners and powerwashing.
Tried the Mr. Clean sponge. It didn’t work. (Though it works great on my regular household walls!)
Regular pencil eraser didn’t work either.

Try Goo Be Gone. It will even take crayon off.

Playhouses For Sale

playhouse—build? buy? have someone build?

I am thinking about having a playhouse in the yard. I am NOT handy @ all. There is one for sale @ Sam’s Club (http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?catg=535&item=149454&prDeTab=1&pCatg=4741) Is it too challenging for a mom and her 11-yr-old? Should I hire someone to build one for me (that seems more expensive)?
p.s. thanks for everyone’s response. I have been looking for a plan on the web with a loft inside but it’s hard to find one. Probably if I want an easier life I need to spend extra $$$ to buy this thing from Sam’s. It bothers me that it looks nice from their photo but the material seems fairly cheap. When I get it I will probably say “wow, this for $1500?” I am still researching.

I think you and your kid should take on the challenge together. You guys can do it. You’ll make a great team.

Kids Playhouse Plastic

Kids Playhouse Plastic

Have you ever heard of a kid spanking another kid?

When I was in kindergarten, I was playing ‘house’ with these two girls. I’m not that sure of what went on, but we got really silly and then one girl took a yellow plastic toy spoon and she and she and the other girl hid in the corner of the playhouse and spanked each other bare butt.
Is there anything wrong with that, or is it just play?
Have your kids ever done that? Did you do that?
And I’m not Sandstorm222 with a new obsession, I promise.
Sort of obviously, they hid because the teacher was in the room and would be mad at them for spanking each other’s bare butts.

Well, my guess is one of them were spanked bare bottom with a wooden spoon. That is common practice in some households. I am sure the that was spanked taught the other one. No this is not common play for children.

Wooden Playground

Wooden Playground

Swing sets are pieces of playground equipment that are essentially a frame from which several swings are suspended. Most swing sets contain two or more swings, sliding equipment, and different type of ladders. This gives multiple activities and features for children to play with. Some swings sets also combine with a tree?house style fort or clubhouse.

The swing sets come in variety of colors and choices. Wooden swing sets are usually made of cedar, and are among the most popular ones. The wood varies in its quality and make. There are also metal swing sets commonly known as traditional swing sets. The swing sets differ in shape, feature, size, style, and height.

Each material has to be painted and protected for durability and life. Swing sets made of metals have to be galvanized or painted in order to prevent from rusting. Using lighter color of paint helps to keep the metal swing set cooler when touched, as light color absorbs less sunlight. With wood, often pressure treated woods are used to prevent deterioration. Plastic is less used, as it is not strong enough to support much weight.

Swing sets usually hold two to four seats, along with sliding equipments and climbing parts. The various swing sets accessories include pre-cut, pre-sanded, and pre-drilled lumber, also the necessary hardware, accessories, and slide. There are also commercial swing sets that are used in schools, residential playgrounds and other public gardens.

Each swing set is designed to give utmost importance to the child’s safety. The swing set should be installed over a sand or pea gravel base, and should be 6 feet away from the walls. The best place to install a swing set is in the backyard and this helps children be active outdoors, and to take in fresh air and maintain physical fitness. It is the duty of the parents to make the play area safe and supervise the children. Swing sets will lure away the attention of children from passive activities and in-house games.

Swing Sets provides detailed information on Swing Sets, Wooden Swing Sets, Metal Swing Sets, Hedstrom Swing Sets and more. Swing Sets is affiliated with Mini Trampoline .

What kind of wood is okay for birds? And wooden dowels?

I’ve been asking a lot of questions. I just want my future bird to be as safe and healthy as possible.

I can’t afford a large cage with a playtop, but I can afford wood to build a large playtop, similar to the small parakeet playgrounds at the pet store.
What kind of wood base can I use?
Are wooden dowels okay for them to nip at?
And what kind of wire can I use to hang things from the wood with? Or would hemp rope be safer?

Thanks. :]

This site has a large list of things that you can make for your bird yourself along with instructions on how to do it.Check out the section on materials/safety and it tells what materials can be dangerous as well as what is safe to use.

Indoor Playhouses

Indoor Playhouses

Eassy needs a Thesis. Can you help me out?

During the Elizabethan era there were three different types of venues, which included: the Inn-yards, Open Air Amphitheaters, and Playhouses. The Inn-yards was one of the original venues, but some of them were alter into Playhouses. The Amphitheaters were made for the summer months and when it was time for winter, they would move into the indoor playhouses.

the first sentence sounds fine for a thesis statement. hard to say w/o reading whole thing

If I want to clamp my piece of wood before I cut it, what do I clamp it onto?

I am going to buy a saw and make my kids a playhouse (wish me luck!). I am thinking a cirular saw… but than I guess I will need a sander or they can get slivers on the edges?… Anyway, do I need some sort of table to clamp it too? All I have a couple of those ‘wooden horses’ that I used to put saddles on back in the day… Any tips for me?

You could make a table by putting a piece of wood your not using across the wooden horses and shooting a few screws though them
