Boys love to have a secret place where they can talk, tell ghost stories, or just hang out! They also like to have adventure in everything they do! When you provide them with a unique clubhouse where your son and all his friends will enjoy spending their time, you will be able to keep him outside and having fun year round.
There are secret club buildings that you can purchase for this use but you aren’t limited to those buildings that are sold only as clubhouses. There are those that are made to closely resemble your home, some that are a simple wooden building, and then there are those that were designed with boys in mind!
Treehouses have been a joy for boys for many years and that hasn’t changed. If your son has his heart set on a treehouse and the only thing you have missing is a tree, no problem! You can find treehouses online that come with their very own tree! These are on the pricey side so if you are looking for something a little less expensive, then you can get the next best thing. There are some buildings that are made on stilts to give the impression of being in a treehouse. He will still have the height and the privacy from a traditional treehouse, but without the squirrels!
There are also buildings that are made as forts. A fort is a great place to encourage imaginative play while still providing a place for him and all of his friends to enjoy their secret club. Choose from single or two-story buildings depending on the amount of room you need. The two-story fort can provide two different uses with storage or a play area for smaller children on the first level.
Another great choice is the castle, which is also available in a variety of styles and for different prices. Boys love slaying imaginary dragons and defending their castle.
You can also provide him with a big pirate ship for his clubhouse. Imagine the fun he and his friends will have searching for treasure and sailing the seas in their own ship! Some of these also have play equipment attached on the outside to serve as an activity center as well as a building for their playing needs.
There are companies that will custom build your son’s playhouse to the specifications of what you both need. This will require more of an investment than those that are ready made but you can get nearly anything that your imagination can dream up.
If you have the skills to create and build a clubhouse, this is an even better way to get what you want and to spend a little less money. You might also consider having your son and his friends help in constructing the clubhouse so that they all feel they contributed something to the project. Then, they will enjoy their special club even more!

What is a cool feature for a little boy’s room?
I am decorating my 5 year old son’s room in robots. The room will be bluish green- Ralph Lauren’s Faded Silk – with black furniture and orange accents.
I really like the things ive seen on HGTV, etc- like the beds built on platforms with playhouses and treehouses around them, and rock climbing walls, etc.
What is something like that, which I could incorporate into one corner of his room- something cool and interactive- while working around the low pitched ceilings up there? The ceiling is probably 6-1/2 feet at the highest point and slopes on either side down to 4 feet.

i think a rock wall would be cool, except there’s not room for it. The ceilings arent high enough for it to be any fun.
The most useful thing in a little boys room is a table and chairs. Puzzles, Lego’s, crafts and an instant fort. My boys spent hours creating lego worlds on their tables.
