Where would the best place be to play Classic Battle Tech in Fort Worth, Texas?

I used to play yeears ago. I liked piloting Mechs and think that it’d be great to get back into the game.

Try any of the Comic Book stores in the Arlington area. You can also call Cosmic Comics in Grand Prairie or Lone Star Comics in Arlington on Abrams. If you have a copy of White Dwarf Magazine, you might find a listing for the various comic stores in the area.

Childrens Wooden Playhouses

Has any parent pruchased their child a childrens playhouse for the backyard that has electricity?

Today there are tons of backyard childrens playhouses that one can purchase for $5,000 to $8,000.

Outdoor Playhouse For Kids

How hot is too hot to have an outdoor party?

Kids birthday party planned for the backyard. Moon bounce, sprinklers, playhouse, slide for the kiddos. It’s supposed to be 90 degrees and a breeze. I don’t want adults melting but I know the kiddos will want to play outside. Should we set up inside or outside? How hot is too hot to be outside for 3 hours?
We live in MI, people complain at 88 haha.

First off, I live in Texas so 90 is a cold day.

Well if you have all those different activities, you definitely want to have it outside – don’t want the little ones to be unattended. Of course, don’t keep the indoors off-limits if someone gets *too* hot.

Try to have it in the late evening if at all possible, starting at 5ish and it won’t be too bad. 10AM-2PM are the worst possible times because of the sun.

Provide some cold drinks and cool and healthy snacks (chilled fruit salad, maybe?). Don’t forget some sunblock and bug repellent!

If you can spring for it, maybe buy one of those vinyl pools so that everyone can cool off if they need to.

Childrens Play Houses

Is it OK to cancel a child play date because a better friend of your child asks for the same date/time ?

two scenarios:
1. C1 invited to C2 house for a play. C1 parents arrange and agree to it. Three days later C3 invites C1 to C3 house for same day/ time. C1 parents cancel the invitation to C2, to accept the invitation for C3.
2. C1 staying at C2 house for a few days. C3 asks C1 parents if C1 can play with them for a day during the time C1 staying at C2 house. C1 parents get C3 parents to pick up and drop off C1 from C2′s house. 7:30 am pickup. 9:00pm dropoff. Childrens ages 9-11.

What if C2′s only friend was C1? Just because C1′s so popular now (though I can’t imagine why, especially if C1 takes have the same attitude as his/her parents) does mean that C2 is. That could be C2′s only opportunity for contact with kids him/her own age for the whole week.

Though I think the second scenario is possibly ruder, using C2′s parents like a babysitting service. That could also make C2 feel bad because (s)he’s being abandoned for someone else. Plus, C2′s parents could be held responsible if something happened to C1 whilst with C3 and his/her parents.

Cardboard Play House

Would these work for homemade rat toys?

A shoe box (cardboard) for a house (I will cut windows and doors don’t worry)
A balled up sock
A pants leg (for tunneling)
A paper bag
A plastic bag (under supervision OF COURSE, I will only let them play when I am watching them and controlling the bag. I am not THAT dumb)
A bouncy ball
A bag or purse (bag as in backpack or something else like that)
A long sleeve shirt

All those are good except for the plastic bag… Even under your super vision your rats could chew holes in it, ingesting the thin plastic. The plastic could cause blockages, and may other problems for your rats, i would suggest just not using that… but paper bags are good! I build my rats a whole vity out of boxes (i ordered a whole bunch of crap from amazon lol)

You also might want to try soaking wood chews in juice then hanging them in their cage. It makes for a flavor treat and its fun for them to try and get them down. I have a hard time getting my rats to actually chew on their chews and that seems to work well, plus they love it!

Kids Playhouse

building my kids a playhouse?

I opted on building a playhouse from my own imagination instead of buying one of those pre-fab ones. I had lots of lumber left over after my house was finished being built so I’m trying to use that up. I’ve also had to buy lumber since I’m running out. Here is a drawing I did of what I’d like it to look like:

Careful, they may use it as an underground sex club.

Kids are much more corrupt these days.

Where can i get outdoor heating suitable for a childs playhouse?

Do you know of any outdoor heating which could be used in a childs wooden play house? If so i would be greatful if you could inform me of them and also if you could tell me where to get them from. Thanks!

I would be reluctant to use anything other than electric heat in that situation. They make an oil filled space heater that looks like an old fashioned radiator. That might be a good choice. Another option is to light the house with halogen lights with the proper guards in place to avoid burns from touching the hot surfaces of the lenses. Halogen lights give off a lot of heat, which may enough, depending on how you plan to use it and what the temperatures outside are.

Avoid anything inside the playhouse that burns any kind of fuel, as carbon monoxide poisoning is always a concern with combustion
